A DELFT headmaster, charged with indecently assaulting three young girls, was found not guilty in the Parow Sexual Offences Court yesterday. He was also acquitted on three charges of possessing child pornography. Christiaan Abrahams was alleged to have indecently touched three girls, aged 10 to 14, over a two-year period. The other three charges related to his alleged possession of child pornography. Abrahams was cleared on the pornography charges when the magistrate, Hennie le Roux, ruled the warrant to confiscate Abrahams’s office computer invalid on techinical grounds, as it was issued in terms of offences under the Housing Act instead of the Sexual Offences Act. Concerning the sexual offences, Abrahams chose not to testify, and was given the benefit of the doubt on two of the charges, based on contradictions made by the victims. On the third sexual offence charge, Le Roux said there was no proof that Abrahams had touched the third girl indecently.
